AWARE Network

The AWARE Network is dedicated to helping WSU students be successful by providing a forum for early intervention to anyone who has direct contact with students. Through this Web site we hope to provide you with the resources you need to assist a student, and/or open communication channels so that someone else may provide the appropriate help.

Center for Human Rights
The Center for Human Rights (CHR) seeks to integrate principles of equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, fairness and equality into all academic and employment activities and practices throughout Washington State University (WSU).
Children's Center
WSU Children's Center provides quality, developmentally appropriate childcare and early education for children of WSU students, staff and faculty.
Counseling and Testing Services
Counseling and Testing Services offers a range of psychological services-- including counseling and psychotherapy, groups, workshops and outreach programs, consultation, crisis service, and psychological testing--to WSU students, faculty, and staff.
Educational Talent Search

WSU Educational Talent Search is a TRIO program designed toprepare and motivate low-income, first-generation high school students to pursue a college education. It assists middle school/high school students and high school dropouts with the necessary understanding, knowledge, skills, and self-esteem to continue in and graduate from high school. Talent Search serves up to 600 students from Grant, Douglas and Okanogan counties providing both an academic year program and a summer institute in June.

Health and Wellness Services
The mission of Washington State University Health and Wellness Services is to provide for the healthcare needs of students; promote and maintain the well-being, health, and safety of the population; assist students to remain in school, achieve academically, function optimally in the university setting, and make informed choices conducive to healthy lifestyles now and in the future.
Research and Assessment
The office of Research and Assessment provides information to administrators, faculty, staff, constituents, and outside agencies about the university's student body and alumni. We conduct research and prepare reports utilizing national and home-grown surveys and internal WSU enterprise data. The staff serve as a resource for many departments and units for assessment, data collection and dissemination of results related to current WSU students on academic performance and retention as well as outcomes of experiences and employment for alumni.
Student Publications

Student Publications enhances student learning through hands-on application of journalistic, communication and business skills in a real world environment by providing information to WSU students, faculty, staff and the general public through publications such as The Daily Evergreen student-run newspaper and the Chinook yearbook.

Budget and Finance

This office is responsible for the overall management of financial and budgetary functions within the Division of Student Affairs, Equity and Diversity. The staff consists of an Area Finance Officer and a finance/budget Manager. Together they advise and make recommendations to the Vice President on budget policy, resource planning and allocation, and strategic planning. They also provide fiscal and budgetary support to all departments within The Division.

Communications and Public Relations

The communications and public relations team provides leadership for gathering and disseminating information from within The Division of Student Affairs, Equity and Diversity to internal and external audiences. Many communication strategies are utilized including the creation of brochures, Web sites, news releases, an annual magazine, and advertising. This office serves as a point of contact for all media organizations seeking information about student programs and issues.

Department of Student Life and Development

Center for Civic Engagement
The Center for Civic Engagement promotes student learning through civic engagement.  It seeks to foster the development of socially responsible and civically engaged citizens through active learning, shared knowledge, reflection, and personal responsibility.
Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life
The Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life provides advising, mentoring, leadership development, and support for Fraternity and Sorority affiliated students and alumni which is necessary for the development of successful Fraternity and Sorority chapters that are a benefit to their (inter)national organization and the Washington State University community.
Compton Union Building (CUB) Business Operations
In collaboration with WSU Bsiness and Finance, the new CUB features many amenities including wireless internet access, increased student meeting space, an upgraded and relocated home for the Student Book Corporation (Bookie), and a multitude of new vendors.
Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation Resource Center

The mission of the Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation Resource Center (GIESORC) is to support education and advocacy for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and straight-allied students, staff, and faculty, as well as alumni/ae and members of the Palouse community.

Residence Life
Residence Life assists students in making connections with others while providing a safe and supportive environment that promotes scholarship, leadership, personal growth and discovery.
Student Involvement and Leadership Development
Student Involvement and Leadership Development is committed to developing critically reflective and socially engaged students, effective communicators, rigorous scholars and artists, and passionate leaders, who work and collaborate on behalf of their local and global communities. Programs and services of Student Activities and Leadership Development include Artsand Culture Programs (Art-a-la-Carte, CUB Gallery), ASWSU Advising, Cougar Leadership Program (workshops, leadership portfolio program), Dad's Weekend, Image Shop (student graphic design and printing services), Registered Student Organizations, and Up All Night (late-night weekend entertainment).
Women's Resource Center

The Women's Resource Center (WRC) develops programs to celebrate women's diversity and contributions, while actively confronting societal challenges and obstacles through activism and working for change. Our initiatives aim at facilitating a safe and supportive climate that promotes opportunities and access for women.

The Alumni Alliances of Washington State University are united in an organized effort to address the needs of the University's alumni, students, parents, faculty and the communities the Alliances serve. 

Culture and Heritage Houses

The Talmadge Anderson Heritage House (935 B Street), Casa Latina (955 B Street) and the Native American Culture and Heritage House (975 B Street) were created to:

  • assist in the development of cultural/ethnic learning communities in the College Hill neighborhood;
  • preserve and promote learning and appreciation of African American, Latina/o, and Native American history through books, films, and artifacts;
  • provide a central location for collections of books, art, films, and artifacts that educate about the African American, Latina/o, and Native American experience; and,
  • create a gathering space where university personnel and the community can experience a comfortable learning environment that enhances cultural understanding and inclusion.

Multicultural Student Services

In accordance with the WSU Strategic Plan and in partnership with other units on campus, the Office of Multicultural Student Services (MSS) seeks to facilitate the best undergraduate experience for multicultural students through the provision of culturally relevant services that foster their successful transition, persistence, achievement, and graduation.

Disability Resource Center
The Disability Resource Center (DRC) coordinates accommodations for students with disabilities in academics. The center provides educational support services for students and disability awareness training for WSU faculty, staff and students.

College Assistance Migrant Program

The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a federally funded program designed to support students from migrant and seasonal farmworker backgrounds during their freshman year in college.

Dean of Students
The Dean of Students office is committed to developing Washington State University students who are critically reflective and engaged participants in a global society, effective communicators, rigorous scholars, and passionate leaders who welcome the challenge to work and collaborate on behalf of their communities.
Student Conduct
The Office of Student Conduct provides student-centered educational services which promote personal development and individual responsibility.
Student Support Services Program
The goal of the WSU Student Support Services Program (SSSP) is to enhance the academic skills of students in order to increase the retention, academic achievement, and graduation rates of participants.
Upward Bound

WSU Upward Bound in Okanogan County provides academic support, information and assistance to high school students from Omak and Okanogan high schools. The project enrolled the first student in April 2004 and now serves 50 students through an extensive  academic year program and  a 4-week summer program.
